Literature is life. Or at least, a huge part of life. It’s a way to escape, a way to be aware, a way to learn about yourself, and a way to learn about others. It can inspire you, calm you, upset you and even frustrate you. It is also origin of some of the best, most inspiring quotes in existence. Sometimes taken out of context, and given a whole new meaning to the author’s original intentions. Because as a form of art, it is there for everyone.
It is my favourite thing to refer to for when I need a little pick me up. Sometimes just a quote, sometimes a poetry collection, sometimes a whole novel. I used a whole bunch of Maya Angelou quotes as a source of inspiration to help pick me up when lupus is getting me down. But, as amazing as she is, she is not the only writer out there. So, here are some more quotes for anyone who is feeling like life is being too much of a bitch.
Always remember to reach out to loved ones though, they’ll want to hear from you.
“you are living. you are breathing. perhaps a bit hurt. perhaps a bit pained. but, you are living. you are breathing. and that’s enough to wake the angels still living in your chest.” – Ijeoma Umebinyuo
“and here you are living despite it all” – Rupi Kaur
“I took a deep breath and listened to the old brag of my heart. I am, I am, I am.” – Sylvia Plath
“Even after all this time the sun never says to the earth, ‘You owe me.’ Look what happens with a love like that. It lights the whole sky.” – Hāfiz
“And in that moment, I swear we were infinite.” – Stephen Chbosky
“Even the darkest night will end and the sun will rise.” – Victor Hugo
“All those who wander are not lost.” – J.R.R. Tolkien
“In spite of everything, I still believe people are really good at heart.” – Anne Frank
They hit home tonight! Thank you for sharing them 💜
Glad you enjoyed! x
